Skype Blog, Twitter Account Hacked By Syrian Electronic Army

It appears Skype’s blog and Twitter account have been compromised, allegedly by the Syrian Electronic Army.

A post appeared on the company’s blog earlier today, simply titled, “Hacked by Syrian Electronic Army.. Stop Spying!

This was followed by a tweet from @Skype promoting the post:

This is only the latest of many hacks perpetrated by the Syrian Electronic Army. They first emerged in 2011, amidst the initial Syrian uprisings, when it began attacking a variety of media outlets and nonprofits and spamming popular Facebook pages like those of President Obama and Oprah Winfrey with pro-Assad comments.

Update: The SEA now seems to be having fun with their access to Skype’s Twitter account:
