The Matchup iOS app allows users to connect Fitbit, Jawbone, and Withings fitness trackers to participate in fitness challenges with friends. It harnesses the power of community and competition to help users stay focused and meet their goals. Research suggests that working out with a partner increases your chances of success. Matchup aims to surround you with a community of peers for support and accountability.

“One of the biggest challenges we see with fitness trackers today is retention,” the company said in a release to VentureBreak. “While many people are initially excited about their fitness tracking device, it oftentimes ends up in a drawer instead of on your wrist.”

The company plans to roll out support for Garmin, Misfit, the Moves app, and Apple’s HealthKit “shortly.”
