IoT AI :: AI IoT

In the land of self-fulfilling anomalies you learn to see through those high on the possibility, to focus on those exhausted from the probability. The probability they are going to build something valuable, of worth, something that people and companies want, that they HAVE to have. Something that stands out no matter what, literally at [half] the speed of light as it transcends thru those fiber-optic lines as fast as the web masses can authenticate and download. That type of data don’t lie. Doesn’t it?

It doesn’t. It seems to work pretty well in this current state of software, an unmistaken feedback loop that many have experienced if not figured out. Nothing [...]

Comfy Robotics, a Wholehearted CRM, and the [VR] Space of Sound

   Sometimes we’re so set on finding a theme, that the most important ones evade our recognition. Well, I decided to do one on people in our age of ‘underlying tech’, more specifically, those at Disrupt this year and [un]knowingly at the heart of the underlying-business therein. The following 3 companies have people that caught my attention, not because they’re arrogantly aware of their SeriesA from TopVCx, or even because they’re beyond confident their particular value-add is going to cause a HUGE shift in their industry/sector, but because it was easy for me to see they’re happy-beings doing good. It is the happiness that we seek. In seed- and [...]

The extended theme was ‘Node.js is ready for primetime’ and ‘every company is a tech company’, and the former is due in large part to massive corporations trying to wrap their head around the latter. Javascript’s client and server [...]

Security is the foundational enabler of IoT

Cisco recently picked up Jasper for $1.4B and created quite the eye-opening stir in the world of IoT, and what a massive world it is. In some ways that makes it easy to gloss over the term like ‘cloud’ or ‘mobile’ before it, indeed it may be the next step in the progression, but my advice would be to pick an industry if you want to dive deeper. The trend of our ever-more-connected world is far too large to fit in one neat buzzword basket. Here, I would like to snapshot a little of what’s happening in ‘IoT Security’ (Map courtesy of CB Insights.)

Security is the foundational enabler of IoT because in the areas where it is seeing the most adoption and deployments (e.g. [...]
